Residential Services
DesertArc currently operates four adult residential group homes serving the needs of clients ranging in age from 18-59. Each home has 5-6 clients for a total of 22 clients. Clients served through the Residential Services have varying forms of disabilities.
The goal of Residential Services is to provide a home for clients who need placement where families are unable to care for their relatives or the clients are unable to live on their own. Residential services are based on teaching the clients independent living skills, which include: cooking healthy meals, menu planning, budgeting, cleaning, laundry, making medical/dental appointments, and learning to access the community on a social level. This is based on individual needs and abilities as addressed in the Individual Program Plan (IPP).
These Group Homes are located in Coachella Valley. Two homes are located in Indio, one in Palm Desert and one in Cathedral City. All homes are operated at a Level 3. This means DesertArc provides 24-hour care and supervision of the clients. Staffing levels must be at a minimum of 210 hours per week.
All homes are licensed under Community Care Licensing, a division of the California Department of Social Services. The homes are audited every 6 months by Inland Regional Center’s Quality Assurance Division, as well as a more in-depth audit every three years. Community Care Licensing inspections are done annually.
